||The Valley Preschool board of directors is in the process of transitioning a program administrator role into a program director position. This position will be evolving as details are determined. Below are some of the required duties that would be involved with the position.
Maintain licensing, health, and safety standards per the state of Minnesota.
Responsible for staffing levels, classroom schedule,
and work performance of all staff.
Enroll all children entering the preschool and orient parents to the school's policies and procedures.
Coordinate the filling of vacancies from waiting lists.
Arrange and oversee building maintenance and repairs.
Formulate plans and supervise the practice
of emergency procedures for fire, severe weather,
injuries and illness affecting children and staff.
Oversee organization of preschool space, building use and storage.
Enforce existing policies and procedures and formulate changes or new
policies and procedures for approval by the board of directors.
Order and oversee management of all supplies and materials in accordance with recommendations of staff and within budget guidelines.
Oversee and maintain record keeping for children.
Responsibilities Relating to Staff:
Supervise all staff members (current staff of 5 teachers).
Plan and conduct regular staff meetings.
Plan and implement in-service training for the staff and inform
them of available literature and community resources for professional development.
Mediate staff difficulties when necessary and plan and implement procedures that lead to wholesome interpersonal relationships between staff members.
Responsible for the evaluation of staff to ensure professional development.
Maintain open communication and a sense of teamwork between all staff members.
Make classroom management recommendations.
Plan and implement procedures for keeping accurate classroom records.
Keep and oversee proper personnel records.
Maintain class lists.
Maintain substitute lists, locate substitutes when needed and record absences; maintain working relationship with all staff.
